A June boxing night in Gladstone drew over 300 spectators for ten bouts with Jamestown rivals. Referee Geo Josephs officiated. promoter Norm Wood and local staff ensured a smooth event with cash prizes for each contestant. Proceeds of £37 benefit the local Youth Club.
