Rationing Commission Keeps Sugar for Jam Issues
The Rationing Commission after reviewing refined sugar stocks decided supplies are adequate to meet an issue of 6 lbs of sugar for jams and preserves to each ration book holder. The minister Mr Dedman announced the move one day ago. The F coupons on the food ration books will allow immediate use and do not expire until December.
Jamestown Institute Adds New Library Titles
The Jamestown Institute reports receipt of several titles in January 1946 including Averil Vachell and Mandarin's Pride among others. The library committee welcomes book suggestions via a dedicated Suggestion Book and lists a 6 shillings per quarter subscription.
