Northern Councils Conference Half-yearly Meeting at Gladstone
The Northern District Councils and Corporations Association met at Gladstone on Friday May 27. President J A Lyons presided with Hon W G Mills R D Nicholls MP and Inspector Davis of the Highways department. Delegates from Belalie Clare Gladstone Port Pirie and other towns attended. The half yearly report discussed rationing dole relief and welfare schemes with Laura Crystal Brook and Port Germain councils noting Jubilees and labor-for-food schemes. The report, adopted on motion of the President and seconded by G Adams with R D Nicholls MP supporting.
