The toast list committee led by J L Kennedy and R J Rose plans the Re Union Social for Laura’s Golden Jubilee starting June 22 with numerous toasts including The King Qui Parlaments Laura Corporation Laura’s Pioneers Our Visitors The Ladies and The Press. Tickets are 4/ double or 2/ single, and early purchase is urged to assist catering.

The Rev Arthur Hemmings reports preparations complete for the Sunday School convention to be held at Crystal Brook Methodist Church on Monday June 6. Three sessions will run morning to afternoon with a 7 pm community singing and public addresses by Senator A Oliver Badman and Rev J Kilmartin. The program includes luncheon and tea, and topics cover teachers, church work, and the Sunday school’s modern task.
The Laura company of Girl Guides and Brownies led by Lieut Miss D. E. Rose and Tawny Owl Miss G. Chellen celebrated the movement's coming of age. A Saturday picnic and hike drew strong turnout and enjoyment, followed by Sunday church parade at the Meth odist Church with Rev A. Hemmings praising the movement's aims. Local committee members also bade farewell to secretary Mrs G. Barrett with a token of appreciation.
