At the Northern Electorate Committee meeting in Jamestown presided by M. M. Middleton, nominees include A. P. Blesing W. L. Blight M. Collins T. H. Duns ford H. G. Hawkins and A. G. Head. Ballot closes January 14 with two candidates required. Ben Weston of Crystal Brook is returning officer. W. G. Mills M.L.C. is not contesting. A. P. Blesing M.L.C. is a candidate.

Jamestown Town Council on December 12 fixed rates including general at seventeen pence per pound health four pence lighting four pence and hospital two pence total 2 shillings 3 pence per pound a three pence cut from last year Gladstone Town Council on December 13 set total rate at 2 pounds 4 shillings per pound general twenty one pence per pound and health rate seven pence per pound for the financial year.
