The Jamestown Church of England Strawberry Fete took place in the Town Hall on the afternoon of November 20. Profits from stalls and donations brought the net sum to 40 pounds 2 shillings 7 pence, with competitions awarding silk stocking, a bed jacket, and a tray as prizes.
The organiser Mr Wood Stith reports two well attended meetings at Canowie Belt and Bundaleer with strong harvest season interest. A Branch of the Australian Primary Producers Union was formed at Canowie Belt with officers led by President N Jamieson and SecretaryTreasurer K Williams. Bundaleer also formed a branch with President J Kerin and Secretary C Cheatley. State Secretary TG Retalic spoke on organisation and marketing.
North Western Association Boucher Shield match at Jamestown survived threats of rain with Guinare defeated 82 to ? as Jamestown strengthens to three wins in the Shield. Ted Clift and Dummy Syms played a highlight draw as Ossie Kurtzer and Iven Garnett posted strong wins. Rain Tuesday halted Electric Light matches. Jamestown to face Laura next, then Pirke.
