Northern show season opens with Diamond Jubilee fixture
The North Western Crystal Brook Society kicks off the 1933 Northern show season with a Diamond Jubilee fixture on September 2. D G Sandow is president and G W H Gale secretary. catalogues are available from Gale or affiliated societies. The Northern Association donates three trophies for draught, horses in action, and open sheep classes, with points earned for first to third places. A silver cup valued at £55 commemorates founder W J Venning, to be won three times for the best three bushels of wheat correctly named. Several other trophies and championship prizes are noted in the catalogue.
