Village Council Sets Street Upgrades and Tax Rates
The Village of Landis council met September 4 at Town Hall with Overseer J Grenkie, Councillors Keeroche Miller and Secretary-Treasurer present. They decided to install a culvert on Main Street East and extend drainage, replace lumber street crossings with gravel topped rock foundations, readvertise Third Ave grading, and fix the 1916 tax rates at General 6 mills Special 7 mills Patriotic 1 mill School 4 mills. Also Nunn Bros will supply a daily market letter via Baird and Botterell during grain season and urge farmers to consign grain for premium prices. inquiries welcome.
