Winifred Williams wife of Rev Trevor J Williams died October 11 after a day of double pneumonia. She was known for unselfish service, cheerful kindness, and deep community impact. She leaves husband, seven month old daughter Joyce, and many mourners. Funeral at the house and cemetery services were simple due to influenza fears. A memorial service will follow.
Landis and district report shows four score ships of grain moved from Landis in ten days. Calgary visitor Miss McKibben stays with Mrs Rowley in Palo. Local figures Sam the laundryman returns from China. Influenza reaches Biggar and Landis with schools closed and new serum expected. Local crime and court actions include an inquest adjournment and a murder arrest. United Grain Growers directors elected. Calgary meeting planned for November 20.
