Grenkie and Sons Propose Legalized Euthanasia at Chicago Convention

A convention of medical men in Chicago discussed legalized euthanasia for the aged and infirm and those with hopeless illness. The proposal allows adults who wish to die to be killed by anesthesia and allows parents of a young child to request the child’s death under similar terms. Dr Guild claimed two hundred thousand people in the United States are praying for death.

Estray horses from Landis sought with reward

Two four-year-old geldings, one bay and one black, strayed from Landis Sunday around noon. Both horses have muddy legs. the black gelding wears a rope halter. A reward is offered for information leading to their recovery. Contact 25 J. B. Towant.

Landis Soldier Returns Becomes Townwide Welcome Day

Landis marks a hero homecoming as Corporal Schermuly arrives from the trenches. The village decorates with Union Jack flags, crowds fill the depot, and a long motor cavalcade follows. He is praised for recovery from a serious arm wound at a Red Cross dance salute.

Death of Martin Thomas Early settler passes away after nine years here

Martin Thomas died last Wednesday at age 86 after emigrating from southern Russia in 1885 and settling on a homestead once occupied by his son Michael Thomas. He leaves a widow four sons and two daughters. The funeral was held Saturday and interment was in Carmelheim cemetery.
