Mr Tinant Sr taken to St Pauls hospital Saskatoon this week. Born March 25 to Mr and Mrs R D Mcleod south of Landis a son. Mr E E Geary buys four year old Percheron stallion from Mr Thos Bell bred in Town. Mr C W Hall likely first on the land this year. yesterday harrowed about 25 acres and ground works fine. Easter services at Landis Churches next Sunday evening will feature special sermons music and floral decorations.
The Landis Red Cross Society asks members and friends to prepare care boxes for overseas Landis soldiers. Uniforms and socks supplied by the Society. Deliver boxes to the town hall office by Saturday April 6. A $150 donation has been sent to provincial headquarters.
Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Veale and children return from Toronto to reside in Traynor for now. Mr. Veale in the Royal Flying Corps heads east again soon. They stay with Mr. and Mrs. E. Danskin as A. Roger & Son builders plan summer work and seek local support. Red Cross drive Friday night 29h features a hand crocheted tea apron prize. Mr. C. L. Granger visits Saskatoon for wife’s operation recovery progress.
In Erin Ontario the wedding of Mary Pearl Lowry and William Cox of Landis Saskatchewan took place under evergreens and a floral arch. Rev. Thomas H. Ibbott officiated, with Mildred Lowry playing the wedding march. The couple received gifts including a war loan certificate and silverware, then hosted a reception for about a hundred guests before departing March 19 for Landis.
A son was born at Scott hospital on March 11 to Mr James Braithwaite and Mrs Braithwaite Traynor.
The Keppel Stock Association seeks a caretaker for pasture duties. Applicants may work three days a week or full time. Apply before April 15 stating salary required. C Monrocomery, Secretary, Traynor.
Rural Municipality of Reford approves By-law No 15 to join with other municipalities to indemnify crop owners against hail losses. It sets a special rate of four cents per acre for 1918 on all lands in the municipality excluding hamlets and grazing leases, with details to be enacted under applicable Acts. Official seals and signatures appear, dated the 14th day of 1948.
