In the Surrogate Court Scott District the estate of Anton Hoffart who died about April 26 1817 is open for claims until July 12 1917. Claimants must send full particulars to executors Frank Hoffart and Gabriel Hager or their lawyers Messia Nay Irvine Scott Saskatchewan. Executors warn distributions will proceed after the deadline to those entitled and not liable to unseen claimants. Dated Scott Saskatchewan June 12 1917. Frank Horrant and Gasere Hacer Executors. The Red Pheasant Reserve Indians plan a treaty anniversary celebration in Landis on Monday July 9 featuring a 1 pm grand feast and an Indian pow wow. A full sports program includes baseball free for all running races pony races and various track events with prizes. The Lydden brass band will perform and admission to grounds is 25 cents.
Red Cross notes list recent contributions from Mrs Grenkie Hindley White Ray and Naseby Ladies Aid with multiple sock donations. Landis Red Cross Belgian Relief Fund receives 10 dollars from H Merkley and 5 dollars from raffle proceeds. Scrap iron donations arrive. appeal for junk cars to raise funds. Wolfe parish sends 85 dollars. Ice cream fruit booth and a Devaney hall dance are planned with admission one dollar for gentlemen and cake for ladies.
Mr. R A Stockton receives medical treatment at Scott hospital. Mr. Frank Ferguson traveled to Winnipeg last week with a cattle shipment. Mrs. Harding north of Traynor underwent appendicitis surgery at a Saskatoon hospital and is improving.
