The Rocky Hard Coal Company operates on a hill 69 feet above rail level with a 400 foot coal face near Coalapur station 47 miles north of Edeon. The field yields good quality coal shipped east to Winnipeg using steam shovels loading directly from beds into bears, showing easy access.

The opening event was postponed due to damp ice. The planned first contest features the President and Vice President with losers paying for an oyster supper. The advertised guest did not show up as planned, leaving organizers disappointed and attendees waiting. No replacement speaker or explanation was provided, and the event proceeded with other activities as scheduled.

Notice is given under Rule 25 of the Surrogate Court Rules that all claimants against the estate of Martin Merkowsky deceased who died around September 2 1918 must file claims by January 17 1919. Executors Martin Mann and John Novakowsky urge claimants to send names, claim details, accounts, and security information, verified by statutory declaration, to Viscount Saskatchewan or Leipzig Saskatchewan. After the deadline, executors will distribute assets to entitled parties. December 11 1918.
