A visitor reports an American farmer near Richlea operates four acres of prairie with strawberry beds and other small fruits. A dammed stream provides irrigation, yielding large well flavored fruit for the district. The farmer plans gradual expansion, with frost protection for winter.
A large Naseby attendance at the Saskatoon fair last week notes light frost harming crops in the district. Mr and Mrs John Cumpstone of Battleford visited, while Red Cross fundraisers earned about 135 dollars from cake raffles and a sale of work. The Naseby Ladies Aid paused monthly meetings to focus on Red Cross efforts and singing practice continues in the schoolhouse with Sunday services at 7 30. The first annual Naseby fair on July 31st drew good exhibits despite drought and lateness. proceeds supported Red Cross work.
