Village notes report Mr. P Devaney visiting Saskatoon, and several residents traveling to Biggar Crandall and Kelfield for work or leisure. The Landis Hotel reopens under Miss Sommer, a public school term begins with 37 pupils, and new reg provisions for vehicle licenses are outlined. A prairie chicken hides in a stove chimney sparking a ghost tale.
The Minister approved By-law No 9 authorizing the municipality to indemnify crop owners against hail losses. A special rate of four cents per acre is assessed for 1918 on lands taxable for municipal taxes, excluding hamlets and grazing leases. Dated Lydden April 2 1918. Mrs. C H Wright comes back after a long eastern holiday with her sister Miss Sprague who will stay awhile. C H Wright plans to close the pool room and return to his farm near Biggar for summer. Red Cross group led by Mrs Cunningham packs boxes for boys at the front. nine boxes sent with food and tobacco and 38 pairs of socks donated in March. School interior redecorated over Easter, credit to Mr Harry Brown. Mr A D Fowler anticipates Alberta potato shipment and a fresh supply of formalin soon for farmers.
Naseby Miss Nellie Meikle visits Saskatoon for a few days while Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hall and Hamily of Landis spend Sunday with Mrs. H's parents. Mrs. F. E. Robertson of Coaldale Alta visits with her parents. Private John Gray receives welcome home support as the Red Cross notes March contributions and a supply shipment.
