Proclamation Orders Thanksgiving Observance in 1815
The Governor General issues a proclamation directing a general Thanksgiving to Almighty God for peace in Europe. The observance is set for 13 April across territories and presidencies, with churches and civil and military officers to conduct solemn services. The Vice President in Council later fixes 27 July as an additional observance on these islands and at Batavia Samarang and Sourabaya.
