The Northern Collieries' Association met in Sydney and decided to offer work to former mine employees on the November terms. This plan reduces hewing rates by ninepence per ton. If miners refuse, free labor will be called to resume operations.
Premier Bayins told the Legislative Assembly the sale would be withdrawn immediately from miners on the Northern coal field who refused offered work at reduced pay. A conference of delegates from all lodges met at Newent yester day to discuss the position with about 100 delegates in attendance.
