London reports a deadly Welwyn railway crash where a parcels express struck the stationary Newcastle express at 70 mph. About 1 person died and 30 to 40 were hurt, with many critically injured among the 20 excursionists, mostly women. Rescue teams worked by torchlight amid mangled carriages.

Throat Cut Incident In Ashford Shearing Shed
