The King’s message to Australia on ANZAC Day honors those who fell at Gallipoli. Sir Isaac Isaacs replied for the Prime Minister and people, noting Australia’s reverent remembrance and praise for courage, loyalty, and sacrifice beyond victory.
Canberra report says when the House meets on Wednesday an amendment to the Immigration Bill will be introduced to abolish the dictation test for alien immigrants. Under current law failing the test leads to deportation, and the new provisions are expected to be more drastic.
Two men were arrested on robbery charges after a morning chase in Glacenville. Constable Tompkins halted them as they dropped bundles and fled. Civilians joined the pursuit. one man fled off a 20 foot cliff but was found hiding in a bush. Police later arrested a suspect at Hunters Fall.
Dr Farle Page declares sub division of the State vital to restore confidence. He supports the Enforcement Act and says he proposed four major amendments to improve it. He warns that extremism in New South Wales and Commonwealth politics threatens Australia if not addressed.
John Birch, 16, of Arcadia near Parramatta was admitted to hospital after a gun discharged while he and a companion hunted flying foxes. The weapon struck the ground and fired into his stomach, blowing off three fingers of his left hand. His condition is serious.

The underground fire at Greta Colliery near Newcastle remains unabated with heavier smoke. The medical officer said fumes do not threaten public health, while an inspector warned of explosion danger. Nearby vegetation and trees have already died from the fumes. The Mines Minister pledged action to abate the nuisance.

London sales curtailment and mixed crossbred offerings shift competition, with Continental buyers more active and prices edging higher in limited lots.
