Agricultural Society elects officers led by Patton
The Portland Society secretary D D Patton was chosen as secretary after a finance committee selection process from 18 applicants. President G B Woodgate was unanimously reelected. The report highlights a strong year with a record show gate receipts, a new sheep pavilion, increased entries, and active committees for ladies, grounds, and annual events. The society also planned an annual ball, tours, and a sheep studs tour, with support from regional agricultural bodies.
