Rankin policy speech advocates decentralisation and port Port land deep sea port
In his policy speech to Western Province electors retiring M R Rankin argues for another Legislative Council term on records of decentralisation and support for ex servicemen. He cites work as public works committee member, port and water projects, Inland wool centres, soldier settlement and outer port development including Portland as a deep sea port to spur regional growth and reduce transport costs. He stresses decentralisation as essential to Victoria's prosperity and notes endorsements by his party while rivals abstain.
