Remarkable 14hp Bean Car Crosses Australia on 6900 Mile Trek
A Bean touring car powered a 6200 to 6900 mile expedition from Sydney to central Australia and back. The crew faced trackless wastes, rain, and soft soils, relying on improvisations including wax as lubricant and chains for traction. The journey tested the car’s reliability and endurance, ending with the vehicle in rough paint but proven capability.
