J Carlson of Horsham claimed first prize with a certified yield of 88.8 bushels per acre from 57 acres, while A F Dahlentury of Naill took second with Magnet wheat yielding about 60 bushels per acre. Jack Carlson placed third with Ghurka wheat yielding around 47 bushels per acre. judges noted strong regional yields and emphasis on seed quality and disease resistance.

At a Brim Springs and Rosebrook Race Club meeting last Friday, members unanimously rejected selling East Wonwon dah property and favored retaining it as an asset. Proposals to convert the grounds into a picnic area were discussed if racing ends. The club’s Horsham meet on March 1 is expected to be as successful as last year, with track improvements and good building repairs. Horsham Cup entries close today for the £70 prize event, track and lawn conditions praised, and two ladies’ tickets with each member’s ticket are offered to boost attendance.
