The Horsham meeting chaired by Mayor Dr. R J Wilmoth drew only seven attendees including Miss Kirby Mrs A Mc Auley Captain L Bowden Meer A McAuley V Carter and A J Mitchell with several others sending apologies. The mayor lamented the low turnout calling it a bitter disappointment and urged active public support for soldiers. Lasting Blaze Injures Teen in Keunington Incident
An 18 year old resident of Keunington near Hendigo was burned today when improvised explosives ignited. The device, made from an old bicycle handle, exploded shortly after creation. Emergency responders transported the injured teen to a local facility for treatment.

Red Cross Donations Boost Horsham Effort to Date
Donations to the Horsham Red Cross Shop total £205 to date with last Friday its best day since opening. The group thanks Omant Bros for a Christmas cake and B C Schurmann for wrapping paper and boxes. A charity recital by Miss Pops Knipe’s pupils is set for Tuesday evening to aid the Red Cross, with further proceeds by Miss Marten Walther’s group in the Masonic Hall on Wednesday. The society’s monthly meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 3 30 p.m. in the Public Library Hall.

Sudden Death at Noradjuha Farm Laborer Dies in Paddock
A 25 year old poultry farm laborer, recently from Wagga, was found unconscious in a paddock two miles from Noradjuha by his employer Sir Frederick Drake. He was taken to Horsham Base Hospital where he died within an hour. An inquiry and post mortem were ordered. death cause unknown. Survived by sister Ethel. Burial planned at Horsham Cemetery.
