Northport Boom: Ore Shipments Expected From New Mine

Roy Young reports strong showings at the Objective Point near Northport where a 40 foot ledge was found in July. Seven miners work 21 feet deep, yielding 300 tons of ore with carbonate content 34 to 41 percent and galena around 79 percent. Hedley Soldiers Visit Vernon Camp and Grand Review

Hedley battalion members and other local figures visited Vernon Camp, where the Rough weather and wooden barracks did not dampen morale. They practiced for Governor General’s review, with hopes of gaining recognition for the 54th Battalion. Nearby parties traveled to Aspen Grove for a hunting excursion, while a new pamphlet promotes British Columbia timber exports to overseas buyers.
