Gold Silver Nickel Ore Prospect in Twenty Mile District
In the Twenty Mile region a planned wagon road to access ore from the Grass Roat area leads to a dam at the Twenty-Mile lake outlet. The Daly Rednelion Co built the dam to hold back water for a reservoir, but a spring break and a five month supply loss forced trail shifts and submerged old routes. Four claims Golden Zone Silver Belt BG and Trish Bay were staked June 20, 1900 by Jade Marks Paul Brodingen and J Murphy with ore showing strong gold and silver values, plus nickel and cobalt in pyrrhotite. Open work reveals a 30 foot adit with 18 feet driving and samples yielding 80 dollars in gold. another 74 foot crosscut shows rich mineralization and parallel quartz veins. Farther south, smaller openings show clean aqua and blende. dumps indicate ore would ship readily if transportation existed.
