Bidding on Equipment For Hedley Gold Mining Works

Machinery firms sent representatives to Hedley to bid on installing a 275 kilowatt generator with a cross driven steam engine or water wheel, three 180 horsepower boilers, and related fixtures. Bidders include Robt. Hamilton Mfg, Goldie & McCulloch, Canada Westinghouse, Allis Chalmers, Canadian Fairbanks, Babcock Wilcox, Canadian Rand, and others.

New Compressor Trial at Hedley Gold Mining Co

The Hedley Gold Mining Co reports a baptism of its new compressor by steam and water. After trials under light and full load, steam was disconnected and water power used with stable operation. Grounded by a lower water supply in cold weather, pumps drills and air system run smoothly. a brief steam trial is planned before full water operation resumes for the season.

Canadian Northern completes 450 mile preliminary survey

A 20 man survey party led by C F Hanington completed the preliminary line survey for the Canadian Northern railway from Yellowhead Pass to New Westminster, noting satisfactory gradients. Engineers plan further details after arrival in Vancouver while surveying near Cranberry Lake on the divide between Tete Janne Cache and the North Thompson river valley. The maximum grade reported is five tenths of a percent.

Wedding Bells in Princeton Double Nuptials Surprise Town

In Princeton on Thursday March 21 a double wedding united four local youths. H. H. Avery Jr. wed Miss Eliza J. Carson of Pavillion B C and A. H. Davidson wed Miss Olive Martin of Princeton. The couples served as bridesmaids and groomsmen for each other. The party plans a wedding trip to Spokane and Seattle.
