M K Rodgers Buys Back in British Columbia Prospect

M K Rodgers a Seattle mining man with three brothers in the enterprise shows lifelong interest in several British Columbia prospects. Six years ago near Observatory Inlet north of Port Simpson he noted an iron slide on a cliff three miles away and suggested it might be worth staking. On March 18 he paid 20 000 toward a 135 000 purchase on the mine, a deal tied to his past work with Marcus Daly of Anaconda Montana.

Widen Your Tires Amends British Columbia Traffic Law

The last session amended the Highway Traffic Regulation Act to require wagon and vehicle tires be at least four inches wide for loads over two thousand pounds. It also repeals and substitutes sections governing log movement on public highways. The act delays enforcement east of the Cascade Mountains until January 1, 1909, giving vehicle owners time to prepare.

Nickel Plate ore shipments from Hedley to Keremeos economic note

Report on the Hot Air items from Grand Forks noting the Nickel Plate mine now operates 110 stamps and ships high grade concentrates daily to Keremeos for eastbound rail loading. Ore runs about 80 dollars per ton in gold and silver, while the Hedley mill with 40 stamps processes ore whose past value is recorded around 12 to 14 dollars per ton.
