McGill University Bill Passes After Lengthy Debate

Progress on Y V and E Greenwood Branch May Start to Delay Trains

The Great Northern line between Oroville and Hedley faces delays as tunneling and bridge work on the Similkameen route progresses. A long 800 foot Myers Creek tunnel advances from both ends, with six miles west of Midway and several bridges delaying track laying. Materials and beaming from Midway and Penticton may hinder spring road access, while nearby Hedley Brewing Co plant begins producing beer.

Pretty Wedding at The Firs Unites T H Dickenson and Miss Rebecca Lowndes

A quiet Saturday ceremony at The Firs in Daly Ave united T H Dickenson and Miss Rebecca G Lowndes. The bridal party included Miss Gertrude Smith and Miss Marjorie Smith with S E Smith giving away the bride. Rev Loni Thomas officiated during a scene that doubled as a birthday party for Marjorie Smith with wedding and birthday cakes. Friends sent many generous gifts despite no formal invitations.

Offer Refused for Nickel Plate Wine at Hedley

Reports state a $5,000,000 offer for the Nickel Plate wine at Hedley was refused. M. K. Rodgers, former Daly Reduction Co manager, heads a syndicate and may form a mining and smelting outfit if the deal collapses. Rodgers plans to return from New York to pursue his interests.

Maple Leaf Dance at Fraternity Hall

Maple Feat Club event in fraternity hall Wednesday evening last week drew over fifty guests. Music by Hill on violin and Mrs. W H Stith on piano pleased dancers. A light repast followed before midnight and dancing ended at 1 30 a.m. The season closes with the Masquerade Ball on March 16 with numerous prizes.
