Wenatchee Line Sanctioned Branch to Wenatchee Route

Olympic January 7 item reports the Great Northern Railway filed a certificate authorizing a new branch from near Wenatchee, running along the Columbia River through Chelan and Douglas counties to connect with the Oroville branch in Okanogan county, about 134 miles total. The project envisions construction and operation to begin soon.

Exposition Opens to Big Seattle Crowd at June 1 Start

Seattle’s Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition draws rapid attendance, surpassing early estimates with more than 90,000 visitors by June 1. The fair runs until October 16, offering airship views, the Pay Streak, Midway nightlife, Cascades and Geyser Basin lighting, and nightly concerts.
