Gamble chief engineer of the way department says the track across the province will be connected by January 25. A 159 mile segment lies west of Westminster with gaps of 28 miles and six miles remaining to close. Daily weather permits will speed progress and all gaps are to be filled by January 25.

Joseph Bromley a longtime Fairview pioneer died last Saturday evening after suffering heart failure. He was 61, a Granite Creek immigrant who moved to Fairview after the rush and remained a bachelor. He leaves a brother John a tatCher in town and a half brother Peter in Keureneos. Funeral services were held at Fairview.
