Dick Burde Decorated for Zeal Under Fire
Lieutenant R Burde of the 102nd battalion OC EF was decorated on the field with the Military Cross for conspicuous work in Northern France. He will be decorated with the medal by the king upon return to England on leave. Burde, a well known printer and writer in RC, formerly worked at the Victoria Times, Vancouver Province, and other papers, and later published the Port Alberni News. ex mayor of Port Alberni.
