The Healesville Blind Auxiliary held a large Maytime ball at Memorial Hall last Friday, netting £60 5 0. Flowers donated by J Pockett, Fisher, and Mrs Lemke adorned the stage. Pockett’s blooms were auctioned for 4 shillings 15 pence. I W Gardiner kept the evening lively and announced winners including Carkeek and Morse in spot dance, and Patterson with partner for Monte Carlo. A cigarette carton auction fetched 2 shillings 10 pence. Prizes went to E Jenkins and J Milne. euchre winners were T Miller and a shared gent’s prize, with booby’s awarded to Taylor and J Clark. The committee thanked edible donors and helpers. President Mrs E Hall awarded life governorships to J Pockett and I W Gardiner for their service.
