New lifeboats boosted coastguard fleet after war end
Since the war, 25 lifeboats are in service around Britain with 8 more on order. Each large boat costs £18,600 and smaller models £15,600. The Cowes built Liver pool and Self-Righter craft feature longer range, two way radio links, and twin diesel driven screws. the fleet includes Hipboats shown in construction.
