Kit-bag theft trial at Healesville Police Court
Frank Gavin Leake faced charges of purloining a leather kit-bag from Frederick J. Gowty between November 21 and 28 at Healesville. Gowty, a Newtown Geelong telephone mechanic, testified the bag and contents, except shoes, were later found at the station. Leake admitted the act and was sentenced to one month imprisonment suspended on entering a 21 month good behaviour recognisance, with costs awarded to Gowty.
