Admitted patients reached 290 up from prior years. 103 received hospital treatment. daily bed average 34. The ladies auxiliary donated £1700 to a new fund and equipment worth £40. Funds and site transfer progress include grants, donations, and the minister’s decision to grant part of State school property for a new hospital, with the building fund now at £7330.

Verdun Ernest Humphrey a 31 year old Wes burn resident and father of four was killed instantly at a new saw mill on the Launching Place Gem brook road. A heavy fly wheel shattered injuring Humphrey and others while bystanders escaped. His body was taken to Melbourne for funeral services held Thursday as the district mourns.
