At a Toronto meeting of Ontario farmers a new group called The Farmer's Association was formed. It aims to be non partisan and modeled after the Manufacturers' Association to unite farmers against rising manufacturer demands and seek fair dues from Parliament. The Monetary Times notes tariff compromise debates and warns against aggressive policy toward western settlers new to the region.
The Times notes dangers in raising tariffs and argues against British preference being a fixed policy. It stresses that keeping Canada united requires balancing economic and national aims, avoiding tariff coercion to prevent west east tensions and support mutual interregional cooperation.

The quarterly secretary’s report notes Sunday school growth with nine new members. W L Hodnett builds a Miniota branch at Arrow River. Mr Thomson from Boissevain becomes wheat buyer here, replacing Jos Irving. Conway plans a 16 by 32 store. a Winnipeg boot and shoe man to man it. Threshing runs strong. wheat mostly No. 1. A fire damages E B Boyce separator stackers. J D Campbell farm sees a wagon overturn during a field blaze while a man lights a pipe.
Judge Cumberland held county court with few cases but much interest. Shuttleworth vs Glint lasted from 9 AM to 4 PM with 15 witnesses. verdict reserved on 350 claim alleging payment under threat of arrest for theft. Gutteridge vs Beamish verdict for plaintiff. Johnson vs Honck verdict for defendant. Attorneys listed for each side.
The Empire Tobacco Co. states it has not raised tobacco prices. Amber smoking tobacco remains unchanged in price and size for consumers. The notice also extends the time for Snowshoe tag resemp tion to January 1934.
