Press Club Tour Through California Utah and Minnesota

From Los Angeles the party traveled by Southern Pacific to San Francisco with stops in Santa Barbara and San Jose. In Santa Barbara members enjoyed salt water baths and were hosted by the Chamber of Commerce in San Jose. In San Francisco the Press Club stayed four days, then moved to Salt Lake City for an organ recital at the Mormon Tabernacle followed by a governor and L H Roberts reception. The Utah tour noted a 95 percent Mormon population, then proceeded to St Paul for a banquet at the Commercial Club. The trip highlighted anticipated immigration from Nebraska Minnesota and the Dakotas to Manitoba and the Territories.
