Oak River 4H Elects Officers and Sets October Events
Oak River Home Economics Club held its re organization meeting on September 17 at the Elementary School led by Mrs. Marjorie Walden. Marilyn Hayhurst was elected President and Vicki Thompson Vice President with Leslie Henry Secretary and Wendy McCallum Treasurer. Members planned a Bake Sale and Tea for October 28 and a Chicken Dinner Hamper raffle. next meeting is October 1.

A shower in Rebekah Hall honors Miss Ivy Dale Espey a bride elect for October 2. Corsages were given to her mother Mrs Harvey Espey and other relatives. At Oak River Elementary School a meeting on September 20 planned a Kindergarten Class with a Parent Association. officers were elected and classes scheduled from November 15 to April 30.

Oak River Collegiate opened the new term with Jerry Cowan as Student Council President and a team of officers. The first council meeting was Sept 21 and a closed school event with a weiner roast and record hop is planned for Oct 2. Valley Ball teams head to Rivers on Sept 28.
