Woman Guilty In Bomb Letter Case In Belgium

Gilbert Elizabeth Lazarus, 21, cousin of V M Molotov’s kin, is sentenced to one year in prison and fined 7000 francs for possessing explosive letter bombs. Jacob Elias, 27, born in Russia, also convicted. Letters were sent to Gen Dempsey Sir Alan Cunningham Sir John Shaw and Lord Winter.

Orphan Jewish refugees reach Canada by plane

Anita Schor of Vichy France among 20 Jewish orphans who landed in Canada from Europe. A special plane from the Canadian Jewish Congress ferried them from Halifax to Montreal to keep Sabbath laws. They will be placed in Canadian foster homes after their parents perished in the Nazi era.
