Early Treatment of Cancer Urged
A 1945 Cancer Campaign opening was held in Orange Hall with Miss E Smith from Manitoba Cancer Institute presenting the film Choose to Live and Dr E Hudson outlining early cancer signs. He warned that delays in diagnosis can be fatal while stressing free treatment and house to house canvassing in October. Bert Gurr suffered severe burns when a tractor gas tank exploded during welding, burning hands and face and damaging nearby equipment. he recovered after nine days in Hamiota Hospital.
