Rev Harold Newton of St Marys Brandon will lead the 11 oclock Sunday service at Christ Church Hamiota. Harvest Festival service follows Sunday evening on October seventh at 7 30 with Rev H J H Oldfield rector of Christ Church Hamiota in charge.
Hamiota United Church announces anniversary services on Sunday October 19 with special preacher Rev. R W K Elliott of Thomas Wesley Saskatoon former minister. Worship schedule includes 11 a m Lord’s Supper 12 10 Sunday School and 7 p m Evening service. Everyone welcome.
Local church details G N Fulford services at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. plus social notes. Visitors from Winnipeg and Prince Rupert, a furniture sale by R H Wood, engagements, garden brag about a five pound cauliflower, a Louise Kirk wedding shower, business visits, and assorted classifieds including livestock, honey, and real estate listings. Public notices include village council revision, film council meeting, and church Women’s Association plans.
At Paris Ontario on Monday September 15 1947 Rev and Mrs David Taylor of Paris welcomed a son Allan Wayne. At Hamiota Hospital on Friday September 19 1947 Mr and Mrs Slimmons of Oakner Manitoba welcomed a daughter Cheryl. On Saturday September 20 1947 Mr and Mrs D Watson of Newdale Manitoba welcomed a son. Also Mr and Mrs Geo Brown of Hamiota Manitoba welcomed a son.
