Wallace White was killed and John Pugh was seriously injured when an auto they rode in was struck by a train at Holmesfield level crossing. White, the driver, believed a car on the far side sped through without noticing the approaching train. The auto was nearly cut in two. the boy, son of farmer Charles Pugh of Cartwright district, has little chance of recovery.
