Fatal Accident Kills Mr William Smith South of Town

A man named William Smith died in a farm accident while checking a binder in a field south of town last Friday. The machine dragged him into its knives after collapse of the mechanism, severing his limb and causing fatal injuries. He was found later by a hired man and died en route to the undertaker. He was a bachelor with a Saskatchewan homestead and had planned to relocate after harvest.

Large Attendance At Hamieta Political Meeting

The best political meeting in Hamieta drew a full hall last Thursday as candidates Dr Rooke and G A Grierson addressed electors. Supporters on both sides gave liberal ovations, and the audience listened intently to questions before the electors.

Presbyterians plan October 28 anniversary services

The Presbyterians arrange anniversary services for October 28 with Rev S MeL Fee likely to preach Sunday and Rev Dr J du Gorden of Winnipeg to lecture Monday. A fowl supper will be served by the Indies. Mrs Moodie sold the livery to George Estebrook. Albert May begins a trip to the old country to visit his mother. A public meeting is set for Friday to discuss the Hoy Scout Movement. Threshing is active with yields from 20 to 50 bushels per acre. Wesley Palmer threshed 110 bushels barley at 60 cents. Mr and Mrs J M Chapman returned from their trip east Friday.
