CWB defends market presence amid subsidy tensions
The Canadian Wheat Board states it has not withdrawn from markets despite subsidy use by the EEC and US. It sells to about 60 countries, with 1990 Canadian grain production up 13 percent to 57.1 million tonnes. Wheat output rises while durum slips, and a CWB Advisory Committee election runs by mail with nominations due September 14 and ballots due November 30.
