The Manitoba Branch of the Canadian Authors Association declines entry for its 9th Annual Poetry Contest with prizes of 50 and 25 for top entries in Rhymed Verse Traditional Rhymed Verse Original and Free Verse. The RCMP Concert Band travels to Shoal Lake Communi-Plex on September 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Hamiota RCMP office with adults six dollars students three dollars and a family pass for fifteen dollars.
Manitoba grants totaling 13000 support four communities through the Sustainable Communities Program.
