Provincewide and local daylight time debate across Manitoba
The province votes to end daylight saving by September while Winnipeg Brandon and Virden push to extend it. Readers note local observers report mushroom growth and odd local anecdotes, plus a mix of notices about RCMP training and seniors in Brandon. A letter-writer observes wage payment practices and private enterprise views. A town baker’s history and other community notes close the column.

Local Notes: Ralph Frazer and Community Snippets
Ralph Frazer of Victoria helps Tom Sedgwick amid harvest delays while enjoying fishing and gopher shooting in poor weather. Pope residents host two weddings in one day and locals report bumper produce including a 5 ounce apple and a 1 pound 3 ounce tomato. A large 12 ounce mushroom from Crandall farms prompts laughs about soup quantities.
