Obituary Notice for Wm T Ellis Resident of Hamiota

The community notes the death of Mr William T Ellis aged sixty two after a paralytic stroke on Monday night He was born in Bideford Lot Pell and married Amanda thirty nine years ago He is survived by his widow a daughter Stella at home and two sons Claud P Winnipeg and Bliss G BC He moved to Hamiota seven years ago from the insurance business and lived a retired life The funeral is held this afternoon in Hacote cemetery with community sympathy extended.

Mrs. Hector Milne rode alone about a thousand miles by horse from Edmonton to Raven Lake near Hamiota in five weeks. She crossed several rail lines and visited friends, reporting improved health and no major difficulties on the historic trek. Milne, once a resident of Hamiota, is married to Hector Milne.

Harvest Progress and Wind Damage Report

Weather improved this week aiding harvest as wheat, oats, and barley near completion. About fifty percent of oats and forty percent of barley cut with threshing machines due to start today. high winds last Thursday caused some crop loss up to five bushels per acre in parts of the district.

The Home Economic Society secretary announces members may exhibit at the Lethbridge fair. Butter must be shipped to Winnipeg by October 4, other items by October 10. All exhibits to Manitoba College. college departs October 13. Fall attendance requested for the October meeting to discuss the exhibition and a hoped strong showing.
