Christ Church Hamiota announces evening service at 7 30 p m led by Rev H J H Oldfield B A L Th Rector attendance expected by parishioners and neighbours for the weekly worship service.
Rev W G Onions will lead the 11 oclock morning service at Hamiota United Church. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Pastor G N Fulford leads Full Gospel services at the Orange Hall in Hamiota inviting parishioners to attend Sunday gatherings at the local church venue.
Several community updates list births at Hamiota Hospital including Phyllis Nyholiation and Kelly Archibald, engagements such as Betty Irene Partridge to Reginald G. Cressall, and visits by Miss Flossie McConnell in Winnipeg. Also recorded are travels, hospital announcements, a ring and key find, and local business notices from Jasper's Electric and bank hours.
A family gathering at Mrs. Minnie Elliott’s home honored Mr. Robert Pearson who turned 86 on August 21 1947. Relatives from Manitoba Ontario and Brandon attended along with ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The group enjoyed visiting photographs and birthday fare in a pleasant afternoon event.
School outfits for children including shirts sweaters dresses socks stockings and shoes in sizes 6 to 20. Boys pants shirts shoes and sweaters offered in various fabrics with coats and neck styles. Build a complete back to school wardrobe with durable wool cotton and mixtures.
Miss Roberta Watt returns home after an August 24 appendix operation at Hamiota Hospital. Local residents Von Baisley Arbuthnotts M Arbuthnotts travel to Killarney for weekend visits. Eileen Pangman and Wilma Knight recover from pneumonia and polio. Arnold Nichol teaches in Deloraine for 1947 48. Joyce Richardson begins Grade XII at Shoal Lake. R N Pollock returns to Winnipeg. Arbuthnott and Pollock families visit Portage Winnipeg. W A of McConnell to hold annual fowl supper on Wednesday in October.
