Phenothiazine Shown To Help Pigs With Worms

A new drug phenothiazine has been marketed in the last two years and shows good results in removing worms from pigs. It costs a little over two dollars per pound retail and treats thirty eight growing pigs weighing fifty to one hundred pounds per pound, about six cents per pig. The drug mixes with regular feed with no starving needed and a dosage of twelve grams per pig. Trials at the Brandon Experimental Farm proved effective and the drug is available through drug stores. Worm infestations cause high death rates, thriftiness loss, and slower growth, reducing bacon exports to Britain. phenothiazine is advised for underperforming pigs.
